Rochester's Bench on Parade

About Benches on Parade
Presented by Nazareth College, Benches on Parade is a community arts project produced by Dixon Schwabl that will provide fun, funky and functional art, designed by local artists. The benches will be on parade across the Greater Rochester area and then auctioned off to the highest bidder. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Nazareth College Arts Center, the Rochester City Ballet, the New York Wine and Culinary Center and an additional 501(c)3 nonprofit of the highest bidder’s choice

After completing the back and front...I wasn't quite sure what to do with the sides. My original design was to keep them a continuation of the large Emperor penguins, but the sides seemed to offer themselves toward two smaller scenes independent of the main bench penguin images. The group of driving birds allowed me to set the scene against a glacier, however I truly love the Southern Rock-hopper penguins, so the last side gave me an opportunity to showcase this comic breed.
